The monthly Haddenham Repair Cafe is now holding monthly events on the first Saturday morning of the month at Haddenham Village Hall – and we are also still open as a virtual service at any time! Our team of volunteers are keen to help you repair broken things – anything portable; we’ll try to help! If it looks like it can’t be repaired, we’ll tell you and if it needs a spare part, we’ll try to help you find one. Book in for a repair below…

More about the Repair Cafe…

Supported by Zero-Carbon Haddenham and Buckinghamshire Council, we aim to encourage ‘repairing’ rather than ‘replacing’ as the logical first step when things break. Why? Because repairing keeps things out of landfill and reduces unnecessary consumption.

We would hope to be able to help you tackle most repairs where a little glue or a replacement screw or part is needed. There will be some things we are not likely to be able to fix – broken screens on mobile phones for example. And we have to draw the line where things are not portable – large pieces of furniture for example – but if you can carry it we’ll look at it! Some things are (badly) designed so they are hard or even impossible to repair so although we may not be able to help – do try us! We like a challenge and we can usually help out as our statistics above show! Even if we can’t offer a fix we can offer advice on disposal, replacement or other options for repair.

Here are the jobs currently being worked on our benches:

  • Clothing - Basket lid (Handle broken)
  • Household appliance - Hoover (Hoover keeps cutting out. It could be a loose connection.)
