Can you help save the Rose and Thistle?
The Rose & Thistle Reborn Team are a passionate group of Haddenham Villagers united by a shared vision to see our iconic village pub reborn as a vibrant, inclusive community pub; a place where everyone comes together to forge friendships over food and drink.
If you are able, please consider donating to the Rose and Thistle Reborn fundraiser. The group is working hard to put together a business plan to take the pub into community ownership, but need to raise a fighting fund to get to the point of being able to launch a community share offer. You can read more detail on their Go Fund Me page. (Donations will not be eligible for Gift Aid).
You’ll see from the page that it is listed as a Zero Carbon Haddenham fundraiser, as we are supporting the group by providing banking services for them until they are able to set up their own account. Any money donated via the fundraiser will be ringfenced for the Rose and Thistle.
We are very happy to support them in this way, just as we did at the start of the Blooming Fruity campaign, both because we strongly believe in the benefits of community ownership and because retaining a range of amenities in the village will mean people are able to stay in Haddenham more often when enjoying a drink or a meal, reducing the need to travel and therefore cutting carbon emissions.
